Molybdenum is used in alloy structural steel
Alloy structural steel is an alloy steel alloyed with an appropriate amount of one or more alloying elements on the basis of non-alloy structural steel. It is mainly used to manufacture various mechanical parts.Molybdenum has a special effect of preventing or weakening the temper brittleness of alloy structural steel.
Molybdenum used in stainless steel
The strength of stainless steel is extremely high after adding molybdenum,It is twice the yield strength of conventional austenitic stainless steel, excellent resistance to uniform corrosion, pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion.
Molybdenum in alloy spring steel
Molybdenum can improve the hardenability, strength and hardness of steel, and can also inhibit temper brittleness and improve heat resistance. Therefore, spring steel containing molybdenum with excellent performance. For example, the hardenability of 60CrMnMoA is the highest among all standard spring steels, making it possible to manufacture very large thread springs and leaf springs.
Molybdenum for high speed tool steel
In high-speed steel, molybdenum acts similarly to tungsten. Since the atomic weight of molybdenum is about half that of tungsten, adding 1% of molybdenum is equivalent to adding 1.6% to 2% of tungsten.Adding molybdenum to steel, the plasticity and toughness of steel become better,so it is excellent for high speed tool steel.
