What is doped molybdenum (high temperature molybdenum)?

Doped molybdenum refers specifically to the use of molybdenum powder doped with Si, Al, and K oxides as the raw material, and the molybdenum alloy material made by powder metallurgy process plus deformation processing method, also known as high temperature molybdenum (HT Moly, which is obtained because it is suitable for high temperature applications name). Doped molybdenum belongs to potassium bubble strengthened alloy.

Types of doped molybdenum

  1. Doped with K, Al, Si oxide, such as KW (Mo-0.002K-0.003Si-0.001Al)

  2. Only doped with K, Si oxide, etc.,such as MH(Mo-0.0015K-0.002Si)

Processing of molybdenum

  1. Doped with molybdenum powder. The aqueous solution of K2SiO3, Al (NO3) 3 and KCl is added to the MoO2 powder, and the doped molybdenum powder is prepared by thermal decomposition and hydrogen reduction.

  2. Billet making.Pressed by film pressing or isostatic pressing.Processing  of doped molybdenum billet by hammer melting or indirect heating sintering.

  3. Plastic deformation. The doped molybdenum billet is forged and cogged , and then rotated, forged, drawn or rolled to make rods, wires, foils and other products
