What is flexinol wire?

Flexinol wire also called actuator wire,it's made of nickle and titanium,

some times other elements are added for certain properties.

This kind of nitinol wires contract (around 4%~ 5% of their length) like muscles when  heated. 

This ability to flex or shorten is a characteristic of nitinol alloy, which dynamically changes their

internal structure at certain temperatures.
