Deformation processing of doped tungsten

Home > Knowledge > Deformation processing of doped tungsten

The cold work hardening rate of doped tungsten is faster than that of pure tungsten, so it needs to be annealed frequently during the production process, and the annealing temperature is high to ensure sufficient recrystallization, and the resulting continuous crystal structure will prevent cracking in the subsequent processing.

1. Forging

The forging blanking temperature of doped tungsten is 1450~1550 °C, and the heating time is 20~25min. The tungsten will be deformed under heating conditions, but it cannot be completely recrystallized. To improve the processing plasticity of continuous tensile deformation of tungsten, rotary forging After a certain degree, complete recrystallization annealing is required.

2. Rolling

The rolling blank temperature of doping tungsten is 1500~1550℃.

During the rolling process, the heating temperature can be gradually reduced, and the holding time can be appropriately shortened.

3. Stretching

Stretching billets are forging bar billets and rolling bar billets.

The stretching temperature is controlled between the recrystallization temperature of the billet and the recovery temperature, and as the diameter decreases, the heating temperature also gradually decreases.

4. Intermediate annealing of tungsten wire

The main purpose of tungsten wire annealing is to eliminate work hardening, improve the processing flexibility of the tungsten wire to continue stretching and achieve the desired properties of the finished tungsten wire.
