Application of tungsten in manufacturing
Tungsten and tungsten alloys occupy a very important position in modern manufacturing.
First of all, tungsten is the most important raw material for making cemented carbide. Cemented carbide is the basic material of today's machining. The turning, milling, planing, drilling, boring, reaming, threading, filing, broaching, and cutting operations in machining are inseparable from cemented carbide cutting tools.
Secondly, tungsten and tungsten alloys are indispensable high-temperature structural materials in the manufacturing industry. Tungsten alloy electrodes have become key components in metal cutting and welding equipment; ultra-high-temperature resistance heating furnaces (temperatures above 2000 ℃) cannot be separated from tungsten wires , Tungsten plate, tungsten rod and other materials; tungsten rhenium alloy is an excellent material for temperature measurement.
Third, tungsten and tungsten alloys are important mold materials in manufacturing. Nowadays, 60% of parts in aviation, automobile, electromechanical and other products are processed by molds. Many molds are made of tungsten alloys, which greatly increase their life and reduce costs.
