Physical properties of tungsten:
High melting point, as high as 3410℃,its vapor pressure and evaporation rate are among the lowest of all metals, and its linear expansion coefficient varies with temperature and is the smallest among the refractory metals family.
Chemical properties of tungsten:
At normal temperature, tungsten is almost resistant to all acid and alkali corrosion and shows high chemical stability. At high temperatures, tungsten is resistant to many molten metals and is therefore ideal for making smelting crucible or container for these metals.
