Tungsten has good high-temperature strength and hardness, good thermal conductivity and small thermal expansion coefficient. Therefore, tungsten is a very important high-temperature mold material.

  1.  Tungsten can be used to make high-temperature die-casting molds,  which can withstand the high temperature of about 1600℃ and the erosion of high-pressure liquid metal of 150-200MPa and the huge thermo-mechanical alternating stress.

2.  Tungsten is used as a resistance welding mold. When using WCu material as the mold, the service life is doubled than steel.

3.  Used as an electric riveting die material. When WMoNiFe high-density tungsten-based alloy is selected as the riveting material, its service life is 30-40 times longer than that of bearing steel riveting molds, and the production cost is reduced to 1/5 of the original.

4. Tungsten is used as a material for electric upsetting molds. W-Mo-Ni-Co-Fe alloy is suitable for electric upsetting molds due to its high hardness and high strength, and its service life is more than 20 times longer than that of W-20Cu material molds.
